Seawood was a founding member of the firm’s sports and entertainment division.Prior to Compass, Seawood worked at the Corcoran Group. He got into real estate in 2008 after more than a decade in the music industry as an artist manager and a stint as an executive Virgin Records America.Seawood said his client roster includes celebrity musicians and athletes. His three teammates, agents Noel Borbon, Sorel Roget, and Shane Boyle are all moving to Triplemint as well.Asked why he made the move, Seawood said he’d “quietly been a fan” of Triplemint for some time. He declined to comment further but said the pandemic afforded him some time to reflect.“When you’re able to be still, you’re really able to be self aware…You have a little more time to think about what’s important to you at that particular moment,” he said.Seawood said he was looking forward to moving into a “boutique” environment at a smaller firm and using the brokerage’s in-house technology platform. He added that, as the first Brooklyn-focused agents at Triplemint, he was drawn to the chance to “have a seat at the table.”“Them wanting me to lend a voice to the direction of the company,” he explained. “That’s a rare opportunity.”A spokesperson for Compass said in a statement that “Aaron is not only a great agent but an amazing person who will always be part of the Compass family.”Seawood and Carte Blanche’s hires at Triplemint come as many residential brokerages, including Compass, have been cutting costs and laying off staffers. Last month, Triplemint hired former Douglas Elliman sales manager Molly Townsend and Walker said more hires are on the way.“We’re still growing and we’re still scaling,” said Walker.Triplemint has not been immune to the pandemic, however. At the beginning of April, it laid off two employees, swapped out part of its leadership team’s salaries for stock and Walker and his co-founder COO Philip Lang stopped taking a salary. But Walker said the firm had a strong first quarter that’s powering its recruitment now. He pushed back against the idea of cutting or reducing agent resources.“That’s the wrong strategy,” he said. “This is the time to invest in your agents because the market is going to rebound.”Write to Erin Hudson at [email protected] moreEx-Douglas Elliman sales manager Molly Townsend joins TriplemintTriplemint expands to New JerseyLayoffs and furloughs hit NYC’s biggest resi firms

The Bar Standards Board is seeking new powers to step into ‘failing chambers’ and other barristers’ businesses when something goes wrong. These include giving the BSB powers along the lines of those enjoyed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority to seize client files and to intervene and take charge if a chambers is seen to be failing or has gone into administration.’This would ensure a level playing field between different regulatory regimes,’ a consultation document entitled ‘Amendment to Bar Standards Board powers’ says. The regulator is also seeking views on setting up a compensation fund. Although the BSB does not envisage that it will be necessary to set up such a fund at the moment, as chambers do not hold client money, it says it is seeking the powers to prepare for changes in the market. The regulatory body cites the increase in public access work, of barristers undertaking litigation and the advent of new business models as factors that could alter the risk landscape. The powers being proposed are the same as those the BSB will be granted if it is licensed as a regulator of alternative business structures, for which it applied last week. However if approved, the new powers will apply to ‘all persons regulated by the BSB, including individual barristers, entities and their owners and managers’. Ewen Macleod, director of regulatory policy for the BSB, said: ‘To be clear: these are powers that would be used very rarely, but we think that, in the event something goes awry, all clients should benefit from the same safeguards – regardless of whether they’re the client of an ABS, a BSB-regulated entity, or a barristers’ chambers.’The BSB also hopes to put its existing regulatory powers on a statutory footing. This includes the power to discipline and disqualify barristers or lay persons working in a chambers or entity. Although the BSB has disciplinary controls over non-barristers through the contractual relationship entered in to with those it regulates, it wants these to be stated ‘unambiguously’ in legislation. The proposed powers would also allow it disqualify support staff such as clerks. The BSB is consulting members on these proposals, and will be accepting feedback until 31 July.

Earlier this week, Duncan Castles reported Manchester United are interested in Porto’s Eder Militao. It was a story certainly worth paying attention to because it was Castles who, way out ahead of anyone else, had the claim of Jose Mourinho’s club being keen on Diogo Dalot, also of Porto. The Militao claims have continued in the Portuguese media, without them managing to add a great deal, but on Saturday it’s claimed Chelsea are also interested.A Bola report the Blues ‘enter the scene’ for the Brazilian defender, and Maurizio Sarri is especially charmed by the defender’s qualities.Chelsea’s manager has ‘signalled’ over the signing, and A Bola explain the club should have an advantage when it comes to the agents involved.Fans of the London club will probably know the names Giuliano Bertolucci and Kia Joorabchian well, and the pair have worked on multiple Chelsea transfers over the years. It will be they dealing with any Militao exit from Porto, and A Bola say Chelsea will have been informed there’s one condition for a transfer: They must pay the player’s €50m buyout clause or it simply isn’t happening.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is AddictiveForge of Empires – Free Online GameUndoRaid: Shadow Legends | Free DownloadEven Non-Gamers Are Obsessed With This RPG Game (It’s Worth Installing!)Raid: Shadow Legends | Free DownloadUndoKeto减肥1個簡單的妙招一夜「融化」腹部贅肉（今晚試試）Keto减肥UndoCNBC InternationalHere’s How Big Businesses in Singapore Are Managing the Impact of COVID-19.CNBC InternationalUndoPerfect-Dating.comReveal Tung Chung As The Best City to Date for Love & RomancePerfect-Dating.comUndoDating.comWhere do attractive singles meet in Tung Chung?Dating.comUndoCoworking Space | Search AdsThe cost of shared office in Hong Kong might surprise youCoworking Space | Search AdsUndoTheTopFiveVPNEnjoy Netflix Now Without Any RestrictionsTheTopFiveVPNUndo熱門話題小心會長過頭…網友推爆:「真的長得超誇張!」熱門話題Undo

Southwest Airlines has been rated as the most trusted airline in the United States and the only one to make the top 10 in a recently released survey of the nation’s most trustworthy brands.California’s The Values Institute surveyed more than 1400 people nationally and measured the trustworthiness of 40 brands in seven key industries.Online retailer Amazon topped the list but Southwest came fifth after hotel group Marriott, software giant Microsoft and the Hilton group.Other airlines ranked in the survey were Delta (21st), JetBlue (24th), American (27th), Alaska (29th) and United (30th).The airlines were ranked ahead of a gaggle of auto insurers, including State Farm and Allstate, as well as fast food chain McDonald’s. They also beat retailers Walmart and Sears as well as phone companies Sprint and T-Mobile.With the exception of Southwest, they were all ranked behind companies such as hamburger chain Wendy’s, retailer Costco, coffee vendor Starbucks and technology giants Samsung, Panasonic and Apple. The survey looked at competence, consistency, candor, concern and connection.Competence was an indicator of a company’s ability to efficiently and effectively meet customer expectations while consistency measured reliability, stability and dependability.Concern, candor and connection looked at issues such as sincerity, authenticity, honesty and empathy as well the emotional connection with a brand.Southwest was rated the highest in terms of customer satisfaction with the survey noting the low-cost carrier had worked to create a distinct personality “through everything from open passenger seating to flight attendants who sing the safety demonstrations”.“Southwest has a fun environment and quirky culture that has proven to be (a) proficient operation in getting its travelers from point A to point B in an efficient, affordable manner,’’ it said. The Values Institute partners with the California State University-Fullerton.
